Everything described on this site works within a boundary. Most of the disappointment with limits comes from a boundary nobody mentioned at the time the limit was set, so here they are, in one place, before you rely on any of them.

The one gap worth remembering above the others
Limits change what a bad stretch costs. They do not change whether play is worth it. A player who has set every control in an account to a sensible figure still faces a game that retains a share of every stake over time, and the controls are best understood as insurance on the downside rather than as an improvement in the odds. Anyone who finds themselves setting limits in order to play more rather than to lose less has the instrument pointing the wrong way.
